About Us
Rapid Technologies HQ is based in the northwest of England on the former site of the old Liverpool-Speke airport in newly acquired
high-tech premises comprising 6000 sq ft of modern offices, showrooms and warehouse space in Dakota Business Park, Liverpool.
Before re-branding Rapid Technologies was formerly known as Rapid Computers Ltd when it was first established over 30 years ago as
a family business by its founding Directors Mark & Denis Stevens in 1985. This was pretty much at the start of the personal micro-computer
boom in the 80’s and 90’s and the company went on to sell over 50,000 micro-computers to consumers, business and educational organisations
throughout the UK.
A corporate re-branding as Rapid Technologies happened at the end of the 90’s to more accurately reflect the new products and wide
range of Managed ICT Services that the Company was delivering. By 2000 the Directors decided to exit the retail PC market and expand
the business by concentrating on infrastructure projects within education. It was in this period that the ICT within academic environments
was being completely transformed under collaborative government initiatives like the “Technology Colleges Trust” and from 2000-2008
as a Microsoft Gold partner Rapid won several business awards from Deloittes for consistently demonstrating outstanding year on year
SME growth in the Technology sector.
The company became an acknowledged and recognised academic ICT provider by 2008 successfully delivering campus wireless, wide area
networking and interactive AV solutions and services to over 1000 northwest schools and institutions. Rapid was accredited as a Gold
partner for the global market leading whiteboard manufacturer Smart Technologies helping contribute to their success by deploying over
10,000 boards into UK classroom environments.
By 2010 the experience gained in deploying 1000- 5000 user academic rollouts had ideally positioned Rapid to embark on targeting large
enterprise and UK PLC customers. After the financial meltdown it was evident in the UK that most businesses were looking to drive change
transformation. As a consequence through its innovation and experience Rapid has successfully continued to implement numerous Eco/Green
friendly, Lean Management and Virtual Meeting Room strategies for many national and multi-national businesses to great affect post
credit crunch.
In 2010 Rapid formed a new microwave/wireless division (see
rapidwireless.co.uk)
which distributes, designs, maintains and installs point to point and point to multi-point licensed and unlicensed microwave communications
products for channel resellers throughout the UK.
Rapid are now considered one of the countries leading specialists in the field of digitally interactive technologies having provided
interactive meeting room and digital signage and wireless solutions for many FTSE, NHS, Military, Local government, Manufacturing,
Rail and SME organisations.
More recently in 2014 Rapid was instrumental in providing a digitised solution which demonstrated significant ROI and cost savings
which helped Jaguar Land Rover Halewood win a global award for innovation across the TATA group.
Demonstration facilities sited across the country.
