HIGH SCHOOL

CLIENT'S REQUIREMENTS
Rapid Technologies were requested to:
- upgrade the High School's outdated 10/100 networks to a Wire Speed Gigabit backbone.
- replace the High School's under capacity servers with a new server farm at each site. The new server farm had to be capable of supporting the growing demand for multimedia rich applications.
ISSUES RAISED
The High School required a quick and efficient deployment and configuration of the new Network without a compromise in the quality of the installation in order to avoid interference with the start of the school term.
SOLUTION PROVIDED
Rapid Technologies:
- supplied and installed a 3Com fully managed Gigabit switched network using 3Com Superstack 3 4950 and Superstack 3 4400 switches.
- created V-LANs to separate the administration and curriculum networks whilst using the same cabling infrastructure.
- supplied and installed new Acer G700 Dual Xeon Servers at each site with Microsoft Windows 2003 Server and XP workstations.
- supplied and installed 150 Acer Veriton workstations.
- provided ongoing critical maintenance cover for both networks.
