What is ClickView?
ClickView

ClickView allows teachers and students to view any video from your school's digital video collection, at any time, at their own pace, from any computer on your own network.

ClickView the successor to the market leader Classroom Video offers an excellent video streaming solution to your school.

ClickView is made up of:

ClickView Library Server - allows you to store and deliver digital videos, photographs, interactive activities and other media files using your existing school network.

ClickView Library - allows librarians and AV staff to remotely manage the contents of the ClickView Library Server.

ClickView Player - allows teachers and students access to ClickView Library videos and media files from any computer within your school.

ClickView Media Centre - allows teachers to display videos from your digital library and display on a television or data projector controlled using a hand-held remote.

Benefits of ClickView

Use ClickView as an alternative to a VCR and TV
You can use ClickView and a PC connected to a data projector, to screen a video through the projector to the whole class. The normal controls such as pause, fast forward and rewind are available. The Teacher’s Notes that accompany each video can be printed off prior to the class and photocopied.

'Mix and Match' video chapters
Instead of showing the whole program, you can select just parts, or 'chapters' when building a Lesson. Or you might wish to use chapters from several videos. This allows you to compile video presentations that align completely with your teaching needs; without having to fast forward or swap VHS tapes during class time.

In a computer laboratory
Any teacher can build a lesson that contains a video and a student worksheet, either written by the teacher, or those that came with the video programs. In class, students watch the program on their PC and complete the worksheet on the computer, saving their work to a directory that the teacher designates.
ClickView allows students to play the video in one corner of the screen while typing answers into the worksheet on the main part of the screen. Each student can work at their own pace, rewinding and pausing as they wish.

Individualised Study
If a student is absent from class, you can instruct them to screen the relevant ClickView Lesson from the library, or any other network point when they return. Senior students can access Lessons for revision purposes in their spare periods. Students in need of extension activities can be directed to specially devised extension Lessons.
Every student in your classroom can work on their own unit of work, with individualised instructions and tasks.

Cooperative Learning Activities
This software is an ideal means of providing students with a variety of resources from which to gather information to complete cooperative learning tasks.

Your Multimedia Classroom
ClickView allows you to build lessons with any type of digital file - Word, Excel, PDF, MPEG, JPEG, Flash, AIF or WAV. The possibilities are endless, for example scanned newspaper and magazine articles, your own video footage, spreadsheets, interactive activities.
A teacher who builds a resource-rich Lesson as part of a unit of work can readily share it with their colleagues.

Visual Learning
A varied and stimulating choice of visual curriculum resources enables students to better understand and retain key curriculum concepts. ClickView helps teachers to ensure that all of the main learning modes - visual, auditory and kinaesthetic are catered for within their classroom.
