Rapid Technologies is the trading name of Rapid Computers Limited and RapidNet Limited.
Based in the North West of England, the Company's premises comprise 5,000 square foot of engineering workshops, a retail showroom and a suite of offices. The Company currently employs over 35 staff, the majority of whom are involved in technical support, engineering services and on-site installation roles.
Rapid Technologies have supplied in excess of 30,000 IT systems to a wide and varied user base since its incorporation in 1985. Although the majority of Rapid Technologies' sales are currently conducted through LEAs, schools and colleges, Rapid Technologies' experience of large IT network rollouts within academia, means that we are ideally suited to non-academic customers who have large scale networks demands.
Rapid Technologies are currently providing IT products and services to more than 1000 education establishments across the North of England.
Until the early 1990s, the vast majority of Rapid Technologies' business was conducted in the North West region. However, Rapid Technologies' reputation as a specialist communication provider has spread and this has led to business successes in Scotland, the Midlands, Yorkshire and Wales. More recently, Rapid Technologies have started to export services outside the United Kingdom.
In 1999 Rapid Technologies pioneered the development of cluster group networking solutions to secondary schools and colleges wanting to forge permanent broadband and Video Conferencing links with partner schools, businesses and the local community. This solution enables secondary schools and colleges to operate and own their own WAN Infrastructure via the innovative use of point-to-point Wireless Technology.
In 2002, Rapid Technologies entered into a Distribution Agreement with one of Europe's leading satellite operators to deliver Broadband Satellite services via one of its divisions, RapidSat. This service delivers broadband entertainment from the sky using satellite technology. It optimises the Internet infrastructure, offering the user broadcast-quality media streaming on their PC. The service transmits multimedia data to a DVB card installed in a personal computer, via a mobile or fixed satellite dish.
In 2002 a new interactive ICT studio was opened to showcase all of the broadband services that Rapid Technologies have to offer. These services include Wireless LAN and WAN solutions, Leased Line access, Satellite Broadband, Push Services, Managed Internet Services Interactive Technologies, and much more. The studio is currently available for booking on request.
As can be seen from the Case Studies, Rapid Technologies have provided a number of high profile ICT projects. Our extensive knowledge in the area of project management has helped us deliver leading edge projects within strict deadlines and budgets.
