Point-to-Multipoint
Point-to-Multipoint Radio is the establishment of a Radio-link between a central location and multiple end points delivering high-speed Broadband data services. Point-to-Multipoint links can currently be provided offering capacities from 2Mbps to 50Mbps.
Point-to-Multipoint is ideally suited for any organisation wishing to distribute Broadband services over short distances. Maximum distances of around 3/4 Kilometres in the UK.
Each Multi-point base station or central location provides bandwidth that is shared between remote sites.
This technology is in the main protocol independent offering little or no restriction on what services/data it can carry.
